U2 - Stay (Faraway, So Close!)
Stay è il terzo singolo estratto dall'album Zooropa nel 1993.
Dagli appassionati e dai fan della band Irlandese si dice che l'album sia il meno apprezzato...Purtroppo non saprei dare un giudizio approfondito in merito perchè sto ancora cercando di capire questo gruppo a fondo.
Ascoltando l'album mi vien da pensare fondamentalmente a 2 cose:
1.Ovviamente i livelli di "The Joshua Tree" e "Rattle And Hum",rispettivamente del 1987 e 1988, sono difficili da ripetere...In quegli album ci sono dei pezzi incredibili che fanno e faranno sempre parte della storia della musica...
2.Qualcosa però penso che da questo punto cambi e il gruppo subisca un evoluzione...
Nonostante le perplessità però io vedo il disco molto positivo perchè è un innovazione sotto il punto di vista dei suoni e nel modo in cui è stato concepito.
Parlando della canzone "Stay (Faraway, So Close!)",colonna sonora dell'omonimo film di Wim Wenders, è un pezzo che a me piace moltissimo.
Nel video,anch'esso ispirato al film,l'immagine più bella è sicuramente quella di Bono in cima all'altissima statua "Angelo" che scruta tutta la città.(Fenomenale).
La melodia è tipicamente stile U2 e rispecchia il loro modo di suonare questo tipo di ballate,ma la cosa che piace è l'interpretazione del testo. Il gruppo da significati diversi al brano e lo stesso Bono (che scrisse la canzone durante il tour dell'album precedente),dice che quando aveva pensato al significato, aveva pensato ad un'altra cosa, ma il bello di tutto ciò è che lascia libertà interpretativa.
Per chi non lo conoscesse vi consiglio di ascoltarla.A chi invece lo conosce e volesse dare un opinione è ben accetta.
